WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

AIME is committed to the belief that Indigenous can mean success. And we want to share that with you. Every limited edition Blue AIME Hoodie sold will see AIME support more Indigenous kids to finish school at the same rate as every Australian child. Thursday 21 July 2011 is a chance for you, or your organisation, to don a Blue AIME Hoodie, join the conversation, and spread the AIME message of Indigenous success. Each year the sleeve on the AIME Hoodie will be designed by an outstanding AIME student. The 2011 winner of the Students Sleeve Competition is Alicia Johnson. Read Alicia's story

ALICIA JOHNSON'S STORY

My name is Alicia Johnson, my mother is from Cherrbourg in QLD, of the Wakka Wakka and Birri Gubbi people. My father is from Wilcannia in far western NSW, of the Barkinji people. I attended Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design in Dulwich Hill NSW, in 2010 I was elected School Captain. I was the first Aboriginal School Captain for our school (the school has been open for 135 years). I was the first school captain in my family as well, this made them very proud. I am happy I have achieved completion of my HSC and I'm taking the next step with my education and have plans for university in 2011. This artwork represents my journey and I hope it shows us all what is possible.

By getting your Blue AIME Hoodie this year, you are helping AIME to get out and see more
Indigenous students like Alicia reach their potential.
